To select the suitable organic source with biofertilizers to improve quality seedling production of Casuarina equisetifolia seedlings of 5-centimeter length were transplanted to ischolar_main trainers with a potting mixture of sterilized substrate of vermiculite and inoculated individually and in various combinations with compost, seaweed fertilizer and biofertilizers. Results showed that the total seedling growth and biomass were significantly increased in all the treatments compared to control plants. Biofertilizers co-inoculated with compost and seaweeds produced the maximum growth, biomass and quality seedling. Among all the treatments, inoculation with seaweed fertilizers + biofertilizers + compost recorded maximum shoot length followed by biofertilizers + compost. These treatments recorded 7.02% and 5.1% increase over control. The total biomass is highest in seedling treated with seaweed fertilizers + biofertilizers + compost and it was recording 57.30 % increase over control. It indicates that the biofertilizers act synergistically when inoculated with organic and seaweed fertilizers. Keywords

Parents occupy the most important place in the perceptual world of the child, in spite of rapid changes within the modern family, parental disciplining is still considered very essential for building healthy emotionality and personality of the child. It has generally been observed that in addition to genetic factors, child rearing practices playa vital role in the development of a child particularly the disciplining practices are considered more important. The present study was taken up to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence and selected personal social variables in authoritarian parenting style. The sample comprised of 40 parents adopting authoritarian parenting style and their children between the age range of 15-17 years from the city of Visakhapatnam of Andhra Pradesh. The parental interactional style questionnaire developed by Vivekan Reddy (1996) was used to know the authoritarian parenting style adopted by the parents. Emotional intelligence inventory developed and standardized by Uma Devi (2003) was used to find out the emotional intelligence levels of the adolescents. Results of the study revealed that in the authoritarian parenting style, most of the adolescents had average levels of emotional intelligence. It was interesting to note from the co- relational analysis resulted that social variables like mother's education, income and the child's age were found to have positive and significant relationship with the dimensions of emotional intelligence like impulse control and optimism. Surprisingly variables like family type, family size, caste, mother's income and child's birth order had significant but negative relationship with the emotional intelligence dimensions such as assertiveness, self actualization, empathy, reality testing and happiness. Keywords

In this era of technological advances many engineering solutions have improved the quality of living for mankind. The focus has been on innovative designs in engineering education. This process has to be strengthened by engineering the design across all domains of engineering. Engineering Design as a course has been offered by universities restricting the curriculum to Mechanical Sciences. particularly in the domain of Mechanical and Industrial Production Engineering. The need to evolve pedagogy for Electrical Sciences students is the challenge which has been addressed through this paper. Curriculum design and delivery, course outcomes and attainments of an undergraduate course for Electrical Sciences is presented here. Pedagogical practices include domain specific case studies, skill development in laboratory, activity based learning, course projects and continuous evaluation. The implementation of course is analyzed with respect to attainment of the outcomes (ABET a-k). Validation of some of the course outcomes is demonstrated through sample case studies as applied to the specific domain of Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, and Instrumentation Technology (ECE, EEE, IT).Keywords

This paper proposes a method to: (i) identify the prerequisite concepts in a Junior course CMOS VLSI Circuits (ii) assess the competency of students in the identified concepts (iii) identify the weak concepts, and (iv) provide remedial measures for addressing the weak concepts. The study pertains to undergraduate students of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Prerequisites for a course are the required prior knowledge of concepts learnt in previous semesters. The student attainment in the course will be adversely affected, if the attainment in prerequisite courses is not satisfactory. The pedagogical practices of providing awareness of the extent of linkage to prerequisites for the course, and retention of concepts for future courses are also presented here. Engineering education is a phase wise advancement of the student from Freshman to Sophomore, Junior and Senior. At each level of education the student is faced with a daunting task of retaining the concepts learnt in previous semesters and applying these concepts to understand new concepts or solve engineering problems. An attainment of 66% in the relevant course outcomes in previous semester provides the basis for identification of weak concept, which is further tested for retention by conducting a quiz in the identified concept. Keywords

The model for knowledge description and formalization, ontology's are widely used to represent user profiles in personalized web information retrieval. However, when representing user profiles, many models have utilized only knowledge from either a global knowledge base or user local information. In this paper, a profile based ontology model is proposed for knowledge representation and reasoning over user profiles. Using user history and user profile, user relevant information will be retrieved. This model learns ontological user profiles from both a world knowledge base and user local instance repositories. The ontology model is evaluated using profile ontology environment (POE). This environment provide the profile based relevant information from the web and also it discover the knowledge of user interest based on the user profile. The ontology search results show that this ontology model is successful. Keywords

Introduction: Sleep disorders, such as difficulty falling asleep, problems maintaining sleep, poor sleep efficiency, early awakening, and excessive daytime sleepiness, are prevalent in patients with cancer.
Method: A Pre experimental study was done to evaluate the effectiveness of acupressure on improving the quality of sleep among cancer patients in H.C.G cancer center at Erode. The conceptual framework of the study was based on the "Neuman's System Model". The research design used was pre experimental one group pre test post test design. Non probability purposive sampling method was used to select the 60 samples for the study. The tool used for this study was Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scale before and after intervention. Acupressure is given at 3 points (back of the ear, wrist and calf muscle for 3min /acupoint on the same day after completion of pre test and it was given for 7 days continuously before bedtime. The data gathered was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Acupressure self instructional module was given after post test to make use of acupressure at home setting.
Result: Major findings of the study were, after intervention majority 50(83.33%) had good sleep and 10(16.67%) of cancer patients had fairly good sleep. The mean score of sleep after intervention is lower than the mean score of sleep before intervention. The 't' value is 23.6 (1.960), which was significant at 0.05 level and shows there is a significant improvement in the quality of sleep.
Discussion: Acupressure is used by millions of persons around the world. Incorporating this technique into nursing care plans will unite us in the commonality we share -the desire to relieve human suffering.

Asherman’s syndrome is a rare, acquired, gynecological disorder of the uterus but there is no clear consensus about management and treatment. It also known as intrauterine synechiae or uterine synechiae. Synechiae means adhesions. It is characterized by the bonding of scar tissue that lines the walls of the uterus, which decreases the volume of the uterine cavity. It can be severe (more than 75% of the front and back walls of the uterus can fuse together) to moderate and mild, where only smaller portions of the uterine wall fuses together. Patients can experience the symptoms depending on the severity of the disease, ie reduced menstrual flow, amenorrhea, increased uterine muscle cramping, abdominal pain and in some case women can develop infertility. The initiation of hysteroscopy has revolutionized its diagnosis and management and also it is considered the most valuable tool in diagnosis and management. The treatment options like hysteroscopic surgery as well as preventive (Foley catheter) and restorative therapies (hormone treatment) and newer option of stem cell treatments are also currently being explored to treat severe cases of Asherman’s syndrome. Keywords
